/idgames Archive is no Longer an Archive

What do you think? Of course nothing is going to change as long as people don't speak up.

I was going to update this thread yesterday, but kept losing interest for some reason. Nambona created a second thread trying to discuss the current state of the archives. Of course Nambona shot himself in the foot trying to defend wads that attack people with this sentence:



If I decided to create a thread or anybody else notable in the Terrywad scene on this subject, we would of done a much better job than Nambona, but that thread would also get shut down and sent to post hell. All that Nambona did was make people such as myself look like worse by trying to defend those kind of wads.

Then that's fucking horrible. I mean last year, I was planning planning with my friends to make a silly Terry troll group.

Freedom of expression seriously? those guys ignore everything that we talk about and do anything they want, like nobody has even a value to say something he wants, I don't think that we ever have one in that shitty forum.

Look, websites are private properties. By default, you don't have any rights or freedom on a private property. In this case, Doomworld and its subsites (forums, archives...) are owned by Julian. (Correct me if I am wrong.) He has chosen few people to help him out with moderation of his website. And that few people has chosen another bunch of people, assembling the staff team. If he had no problem with his staffs decisions until this time, that means he agrees with them.
In this case, what whoever the heck has control of the archives does is completely supported. Neither the Doomworld habitants themselves seem to have problem with these decisions, except few objections but that's negligible. As the conclusion, whatever they do will only cause a bad impression, nothing more or less.
Best thing you can do is just move on, you can't win this debate.

Doomkid started this thread a couple of weeks ago asking what prompted the comments change(I wish I would of found this thread weeks ago). Of course, nothing about this has changed and likely never will.

This is once again more evidence that the maintainers are rejecting things they don't like. How does this specific gamarra wad break any rules? I could say the samething for carnass if that wad also didn't break any rules. If more people actually spoke up and stopped using "quality control" as an excuse for them abusing their power, then things like this wouldn't keep happening. Me speaking up about this by making this thread an a couple of videos is what caused more drama against me that lasted for at least a couple of months.

This is also why I'm no longer uploading anymore of my wads on to /idgames because they are too strict and only members of Doomworld can comment. I'm fine with all of the other wads of mine being up there, I'm applying this to my future releases that will only be exclusive on my website. I was going to talk about that in my update video, but somehow forgot about it.
